I am considering purchasing the UC520 for my small business and would like to know if the following features will work with this setup.
1) Can we queue calls? Example: Someone calls, presses 1 for support but all agents are on the phone. Can the call goto a queue and wait for the next available agent?
2) Can we define outbound dailing rules? Example: We use PSTN for US long distance, but we use a SIP trunk for calls to Canada. Can we define the Canada area codes and have the system place calls with those area codes through our SIP provider, while all other calls go out PSTN.
3) Does this sytstem include a PC based call manager? My employees like to be able to copy and paste a phone number out of an email and have the phone dial it without picking up the phone. They also like to see how many calls are holding, queued, etc.
Sorry if these are basic/simple questions and thank you very much for any information you can provide me.

$4000 just for labor is way
$4000 just for labor is way too hi. It doesn't take 40 hours to put one of these sytems together. Where are you located? I'll fly out there and install it for you for have that price.
For a single system, 1-2 days labor max plus any extra time it takes for the telco to mess things up. If you are adding VPN services, remote sites, etc., that's a different story.

I agree
I asked for a breakdown on installation and the partner provided me this formula: 40 hours to configure and implement in my office. He stated 90% of the work would be done in there office before they arrived at my office. Installation and implementation rate is $100.00 per hour.
I will have 2 additional quotes in the morning.
Thanks for the input!
yup
I charge $150 an hour, but I work quick and good :)
I understand all of the
I understand all of the featutes this device can and will bring me. I will have 5 phones. Inbound calling will come though 4 PSTN lines, outbound calling over my T1/SIP trunk. When the installation price is 45% of the entire quote I start to wonder. I have quotes coming from other partners in my area so we'll see how they compare.
Thanks
45% does seem high
it should be one days labor for the setup you described.

I received the quote back. Installtion, setup, and implementation on all harware... $4,000.00. Seems quite high to me! Thoughts?

Well, How many phones are you getting?
Remember you are getting much more than dial tone. Besides phones you are getting a Vlan capable POE Switch, Internet Router, Firewall, VPN, Auto Attendant and Email access to voicemail.
One of the ways I typically bundle the UC520 to show a return on investment is to do the following . . .
#1 I move the customer to SIP or T-1 from analog lines to reduce monthly expenses
#2 I have them lease the system with a dollar buyout at the end and include install in the lease from Cisco Capital.
Usually I can show the customer a significant monthly savings by having them purchase this way and they also get some significant tax benefits through the lease.
I always focus on how much I'm saving the customer monthly so there is no "sticker shock"

Check out the Cisco Call Connector for Windows GUI:

It allows for dialing directly out of Outlook contacts and shows incoming screen pops for calls.

Hi!
1 and 2: definitely yes. 3: maybe not. I really don't know.
Thanks for the information.
Thanks for the information. I was able to find out my answers to question 3 is yes, by using the Cisco TAPI stack for Windows you can control the phone though a Windows based PC.
Now the wait for the installation quote...
Thanks again!
