What is the best way to handle faxing with PRI feed?

What is the best way to connect an analog fax machine to a FXS port using a PRI feed?

Should I treat the fax machine as an analog device and assign a number and have a DID translate to this number for incoming calls? Is there a better way?

I'm having problems where the FXS port doesn't recognize the off hook or sometimes the line gets "stuck" and only way to release it or reset it is to go into console/telnet and manually perform a shut / no shut on the voice-port.

How do you guys handle an analog fax machine connected to a FXS port over PRI?

I had the same issue with

I had the same issue with pri to fax via an fxs port. what I wound up doing was putting an ata in place and never had an issue again. to route the incoming fax I used a 1 to 1 voice translation rule matching the 4 digits from the PRI to the 3 digit fax extension.

I just read briefly on

I just read briefly on supervisory disconnect. One question I have is, isn't this only an option for FXO ports and not FXS?

Does disconnect-ack work in this scenario?

I would build a dial-peer

I would build a dial-peer int the CME matching the recieved digits from the PSTN and point the dial-peer to the associated voice port. As for the hanging, I would try supervisory disconnect on the voice port. Hope this helps.
