We had to use the data VLAN IP address of the UC500 box (instead of the voice VLAN IP address) in order to get the call connector to "stay red" or pop-up incoming calls when initially working with the wizard.
We are still having issues with the application and shared-lines, but I understand the Cisco UCC team is working on that problem.
Licensing of the retail product is quite strange, but works.

I've succesfully installed
I've succesfully installed UCC Personal Client on XP machines (pretty straight forward). I haven't had much luck with Vista however.
also installed
and was able to get the clients to work on XP and Vista with the 1.4 version
