We are currently in the planning stages before purchasing a UC520. We currently have 1232AG access points deployed on our factory floor and was wondering how well they will work with the UC520 and 7921 wireless phones. If they are set up as stand alone APs are there any foreseeable problems with this configuration? I would consider some AP521's but am worried about coverage issues. Thank you, Ryan |

You will need a wireless
You will need a wireless controller to manage your aps if you plan on having your users roam between aps. The time it takes for the handset to dissociate with one ap and associate with another will be enough to drop the call. If roaming is not a requirement, autonomous aps will work fine.

Thank you for the
Thank you for the response.
That's exactly what I ended up doing. Unfortunately I haven't received my 7921's yet so I have been unable to test voice quality. Hopefully this week.
you could pretty much leave
you could pretty much leave your existing setup as-is, and just install the UC520. the uc520 doesnt have to change anything on your existing infrastructure. you might want to configure a voice vlan and voice SSID on your APs to connect the 7921s to (for QoS), but other than that, shouldnt have any issues. Just configure the APs and UC520 switchports as trunks (if you are plugging them in directly).
