UC500 supported switches

Hi all
I wonder if anyone coudl help with with regards to supported cisco switches on the UC500 system.

We currently have the rack mount UC500 phone system and a 24 port POE switch.
This system gives us up to 32 users.

We are having some change in the office and due to the restictions on wiring we have got between our two buildings we will need to have the phone sytem uc500 and a 24 port poe switch in the first building and an 24 port poe switch in the second.
We are still going to use the system for 32 users as we do not need any more.

Can we just plug another switch into the system and this will be supported ok?
Do we need this plug in to the existing switch or the phone system?

Any help would be great on this as we need to move quickly with gettinh this ordered.

Thanks all

Cooper

That will work, but you will

That will work, but you will want to utilize a CE520 switch. Only for the reasons that it will be easily controlled from the Configuration Assistant, provide POE and talk properly with the UC500 system. I have added 3rd party vocie switches in the past and have non-serious issues with 3rd party switches. Disabling CDP protocol on the switch port (uc500 side) and using the smartport of OTHER (which is Cisco recommended for 3rd party switch) solved the issues.

What is the distance away of the other buildings? Make sure it is not too far for a CAT5 run.

UC500 add-on switches

You can definitely add on additional switches, PoE or not. Just uplink one to your existing switch.
