Hi everyone, I work for a Cisco distributor, and my newest task is to hold a demostration about the capabilities of the UC500 family for our resellers. What I've got to do that: 1x UC520W-8U-2BRI-K9 along with software IP phones and 2-3 laptops. I wouldn't want to go too technical, so what I have in mind is showing most of the features available, such as 3rd party programs, utilization of the color display on the 7970G (can I put the image of an ip camera on that?), email client and skype integration (stonevoice?) and stuff like that. I don't have a crystal clear concept of what to do exactly, so all ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Configuring isn't gonna be a piece of cake either, as I don't have too much experience in that, but I suppose I can gather all the knowledge I need from the forum. Ahh and I almost forgot, here's the real scoop: I've got ten days to put the whole thing together! So please help me come up with a clear concept, what would you do if you were in my shoes? Thanks a lot in advance! Peter p.s. I'm not sure that I opened the topic to the correct section, admins please move the thread if necessary |

IOS upgrade
Guys,
I am playing with the idea of upgrading the IOS (I've just done so with CCA), but as I can see there are two choices, 12.4XW and 12.4T - what's the difference? Which one should I go for?
Peter
Go with 12.4XW
Also, email me directly to give you a copy of the demo script.
Thanks,
Marcos
thanks!
Thank you all for your quick reply. I just started actually playing with it, we'll see how far I get tonight. You guys mentioned the demo script, is it on the flash? There's a factory default .cfg and no other config files. Can someone send it to me by any chance?
Marcos,
local Cisco office is really helpful, I just know that the engineer I know is pretty overstreched, so I'm trying to get along on my own, and in case I get stuck I'll call him.
I connected the device to my home router on the WAN port, and my PC to the UC500, so far so good. I'll unpack the phones, I'll give you a heads-up in a few hours. If someone could find that demo script for me that would be splendid.
cheers,
Peter
Do you have a Cisco Rep?
Your local Cisco Sales Team should be able (and willing) to help with this.
If you have trouble getting in touch with them, drop me an email at marchern@cisco.com and we will get you going.
Thanks,
Marcos
The DEMO unit comes with a
The DEMO unit comes with a DEMO script... Once you load it, there is a whole scenario to follow. I would try to get that going, it will be the easiest and you can DEMO it doing a bunch of things... Also if you have only days... I wouldn't get into too many 3rd party integrations or fancy configurations.. a lot of it isn't easy.
Very good point
I would limit it to the basics too.
