Hi,
I have a CallManager Express 4.2 with phones 7921. Is it possible to have your personal address book? From the phone I can go to Directory/Directory Services/Local Directory but I just can search I can't insert. I would like that each user could introduce his own address book in his phone.
I don´t know how I can configure Personal Directory (Personal Address Book and Personal Fast Dials).
In the router I can configure the local directory service but I can´t the
Personal Address Book (PAB) Service.
I need help.
Thanks
Personal Speed Dials and
Personal Speed Dials and Personal address books are only available on 796X and 794X phones.
Personal Fast Dial, Personal Speed Dial, and Abbreviated Dial (before CME 4.3)
Personal Fast Dial
Personal Fast Dials Can be configured from CME GUI, logged in as the user or from the CLI by the system administrator. The end user programs Personal Fast Dials from the GUI by going to Configure > Phone.
Use Personal fast Dials on the phone by pressing the “Directories” button then choose “Personal Speed Dial.”
Example (from CLI):
ephone 13
fastdial 1 202 name John Smith
fastdial 2 404 name Jane Doe
fastdial 3 201 name Receptionist
fastdial 4 777 name Auto Attendant
Abbreviated Dials
Abbreviated dials are available when Speed Dials are configured on the phone. Speed Dials can be configured from CME GUI, logged in as the user. The end user programs Speed Dials from the GUI by going to Configure > Phone.
Abbreviated dials are listed in succession to the order that the speed dials are entered. If there are no line buttons available to be programmed to be speed dials, then the speed dials must be programmed from the CLI by the system administrator.
Example (from CLI):
ephone 13
speed-dial 1 202 label “John Smith”
speed-dial 2 201 label “Receptionist”
Local Speed Dials (Before and after CME 4.3)
Local Speed Dials are entered in a speeddial.xml file then uploaded to flash memory. If speeddial.xml does not exist and if a user chooses the “Local Speed Dial” directory, “No Record Found” will be displayed on the phone screen.
An example of the speeddial.xml file can be found in the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express System Administrator Guide under “Enabling a Local Speed Dial Menu: Example.”
