UC 520 IOS upgrade
Hi I have a new UC520 out of the box and it came with Release 12.4.11-XW7 Filename uc500-advipservicesk9-mz.124-11.XW7.bin. It does not recognise well the 521/524 IP phones - I now noticed that the new software package mentioned above should recognise well these models. how is the upgrae performed ?
The Software Pack UC520-4.2.8.zip contains IOS Release: 12.4(11)XW8 and now there is a newe? r IOS Release 12.4.20T Filename uc500-advipservicesk9-mz.124-20.T.bin ? do i need to upgrade to this IOS too?
Reasons to upgrade from Bone Stock to newer Rev...

Would you put some comments into _why_ an engineer would want to upgrade their SBCS from bone stock out of the box to some newer rev? I don't need more features...I am already overwhelmed with what the UC520 has in it.
What will the new revision of the IOS or the CME and CUE do for my SBCS install? If it will make it simpler to work with, I'm all for it.

Well It depends. . . .
What version of the software came with your box?
Usually an IOS upgrade is a good thing. Especially if the are no new features in the version. This means Bug fixes. If you get in a Jam during an install and call TAC they will probably tell you to go to the newer version of IOS anyway.
Now, I might not put it on a production box on day one though as well.
If you have an older version of CUE, you will want to upgrade if you are planning to deploy auto attendants as the Newer web based Auto Attendant Editor Express will save hours over building an Auto Attendant using the stand alone editor program.

- CSCso39201: Phone accidentally getting into DND mode while on an active call
