I have uploaded a .au and .mp3 file to the uc500. I have set the new file as the MOH. When on hold, all i get is static. Does the file have to be a specific format or created with a specific program? |

Interesting you suggest MOH has a problem.
I tried my own MOH file , created using audacity , tried aLaw and muLaw in a .au and .wav format. The .au format sounded like a 77 rpm record playing on a 33 rpm player..so sooo sloooow.
There has got to be a way to create a MOH file , it just makes sense since the on board MOH file works. I have to be doing something wrong. If you know please tell me ?
Music On Hold Solution
I just signed up as a member of the uc500 site. I have seen many posts regarding music on hold configuration issues. My company specializes in creating music and message on hold and auto attendant prompts for CME as well as other platforms. We have recently hired a Cisco developer to create an application which can automatically deploy custom MOH and AA to multi-location enterprises eliminating the need to manually configure changes. We should be going live in the next 30 days. If I can be of assistance, please let me know.

The UC box is very picky
The UC box is very picky with the format of the MOH file. It needs to be mono 8-bit 8-kHz data; for example, ITU-T A-law or mu-law data format. You can convert your files with Audacity. Anything else just makes a bunch of noise.

I turned off multicasting
I turned off multicasting (no multicast moh 239.10.16.16 port 2000) but still static. Here is the MOH line I have in config. moh on_hold_ipc.mp3 When I changed to default moh music-on-hold.au it works fine.
MOH does work when I use
MOH does work when I use music-on-hold.au interally and externally, but when I load a 3rd party .wav or .mp3 all I get is static.
MOH on the UC500 has a bug.
MOH on the UC500 has a bug. Turn off multicasting. You wont be able hear music inside your local phone network, but anyone calling from outside will.
