(lot of) questions about UC500 usage and features

Hello all,

I have a lot of question concerning the UC500 series design and features.

It is based on CUCME and CUE. According to the documentation I found, respectively versions 4.2 and 2.3.4 which are note the newest. Is this correct ?

Then, would a UC500 router fit in a classic network LAN/WLAN environment or is it design only to work with the UC5xx series of equipment ?

Is there an easy way to integrate into Windows Environment: CTI on applications, VM on Exchange/Outlook, connection/sync to Active Directory ? What about MS Live Presence ?

Is there an softphone (SCCP or SIP), suported on CUCME / UC500, that works on Windows Mobile Device ?

Are these call scenarios supported:

- call no answer forwarded to switchboard, if no answer from switchboard back to voice mail of initial destination.
- call transfered to another calling party, if no answer ringing back to initial calling party
- affect a DTMF sequence to a single button ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

1. The current UC520 image

1. The current UC520 image is based on Cisco CME 4.2 and CUE 3.1

2. The device will function in a classic lan/wan environment as a switch/router/firewall/wireless ap...You can use third party network equipment with the device but won't be able to use CCA (which sucks anyways) to configure or manage. Of course you can use 3rd party phones with the device but you'll get the most features from using Cisco phones.

3. Email integration can be achieved through the integrated messaging feature in CUE. Alternatively, you can set up an IMAP account in Outlook pointed directly at CUE. I prefer to have CUE just kick out an email notification with the message attached as a wav file to my exchange server.

4. No softphone for Windows mobile, unfortunately. Only dual mode phone made at the moment is from Nokia.

5. For single number reach features you will need to purchase Cisco Unified Call Connector/Mobility. This program also allows for the forwarded call to be brought back to vm if there is no answer. You'll need a dedicated server for this though.
