Forward to VM after hunting "failed"

Hi everybody!
After struggling for days now and finally finding the solution on coincidence (page 133, Cisco IP Communication Express - the big fat book) I wanted to share my problem.
Here is the situation:
Calls arriving from the PSTN will be caught by a hunt-pilot who will then try to reach 4 extensions (4 employees) before it will "final out" to VM (a propper configured GDM with it's own ext and bla bla bla). It failed! Guess why! I couldn't believe it! Check your telephony-service settings, in particular the max-redirect variable. in my case it was set to 5 - 1 (ONE) less than needed ;-(
When a call arrives from the PSTN it will be transferred the first time to the hunt-pilot, the pilot tries (sequentially) to reach 4 extensions (how many redirects do we have by this point?! right!), and finally fails to forward it to VM because there are no redirects left! Remember RIP?! 15 hops....
I hope this will help everyone who was in a similar situation - and what I have read so far - there where quite a lot - with all kind of solutions but no one mentioned max-redirect...
Kind regards

If you don't have a max-redirect value
In Unified or CCME the default value is 10 which should do most people OOB for call transfers. But you're right it is something to watch if you have configured it.

If you have configured it
Hello Steve,
what do you mean with "if you have configured max-redirect value"?! Is this something that can be left away? Seriously? Tell me more about it!

Florian
