Valcom is highly recognized, and a great brand. Bogen is used in many of our schools locally and many industrial applications. www.bogen.com. Should work with any phone system, I am sure the Cisco will support any external paging device.

How exactly do I connect a Bogen TAM B to a UC 500 in order to be able to page both over the IP phones and the external analog speakers? Is this possible?

I've had good success with Valcom
They have a good web site and excellent pre-sales support. I've done single-zone installs using the V-9970 page control unit, which plugs directly into an FXS port. You'll also need a power supply, sized based on the number of speakers in the sytem. Valcom also has multi-zone page control units and units that support things like two-way communication.
