New Software Introduction - Cisco Small Business Office Manager Beta, UC500

UC500.com Community,
Cisco is pleased to announce the availability of Cisco Small Business Office Manager Beta (or Office Manager Beta), a new tool that enhances the end user experience and interaction with the SBCS solution.
Office Manager Beta offers a very simple way to change basic configuration options on the UC 500, such as call forward, SNR, remote access (VPN) and more!
Office Manager Beta is a "leave behind" tool. The Cisco Reseller installs it gets it ready to be used by the Office Administrator.
Office Manager Beta is fully compatible with the Cisco Configuration Assistant (CCA) version 2.2, and also includes a basic Video Viewer that allows you to automatically discover up to four Cisco PVC2300 or WVC2300 IP Cameras.
Support for Office Manager Beta is best effort and will be offered via the Cisco Small Business Support Community ONLY. The Cisco Small Business Support Community can be used to report problems and suggest product enhancements. Visit the Cisco Small Business Support Community at:

Our Small Business Support Center (SBSC) WILL NOT support Office Manager Beta during the trial phase.
You can accept the Cisco Beta Agreement, watch and introductory video, read about caveats and limitations and download Office Manager Beta from the following location:

Do you need a CCO login to access Office Manager Beta?
Do you need a CCO login to access Office Manager Beta? I have a Cisco UC500 in our lab and wanted to try it out.

Yes you do
Yes.
Using the Office Manager via VPN
Will the application only work while directly connected or will it support VPN access?
Thanks,
Bill
VPN support is not officially there
There are issues with Bonjour discovery over VPN, so the Video Viewer won't work. Controlling all the other functions should be possible though. We will get around this inherent limitation by allowing the insaller to define the actual IP addresses of the cameras at the site.
Thanks,
Marcos
Help?
Any tips on getting this application working? I installed the latest version a couple days ago, but it doesnt seem to do anything. It tries to discover my UC520, and just times out. I went into settings and gave it the IP, same thing. Is there any special configuration or software version needed on the UC520 for this program to see it? Any other reason i can't get it to connect?
Your system must be configured with CCA 2.2
And be on Software pack 8.0.0 or above. With regards to the manual IP address field, right now that menu is a no-op, but it will be turned on in the next reelease which I will post next week. For now, you can:
Right Click on My Computer -> Manage -> Services
Stop the Office Manager Video Panel Service
Next, edit the following file.
C:\Program Files
\Cisco Small Business Office Manager\CiscoDeviceDisocvery.xml (this is the default installation location)
In the IpAddr field, put in the IP address of your UC500. Save the file. Restart the Office Manager Video Panel Service.
I am back in the office next Monday and I will be happy to help you troubleshoot this further. Thanks for your feedback.
Marcos
