Fellow Cisco Unified Communications Instructor Joe Parlas wrote A nice Piece on Implementing IP Phone Services and even has a link to so code to retrieve Gmail on an IP Phone. It is really worth a look.  The Article is about Unified Communications Manager but these services can easily be added to a Uc500 or CME.
