Using an iPad with Cisco Video Surveillance IP Cameras

Looking to remotely monitor your Cisco or Linksys IP Video cameras?
Live Cams HD Screen ShotWell there is a cool $1.99 app for the iPad that will let you view up to 24 cameras at a time.  It is called Live Cams HD. There are two versions Live Cameras which is an iPhone version and Live Cameras HD which is an iPad Version.  If your camera has PTZ you can even remotely Pan Tilt and Zoom the camera from your ipad.

The app defualts to viewing publicly available web cams but you can easily change the settings to support only private cameras.  I found that app works great for remote monitoring over the CIsco IPsec VPN that is built into the UC500 and the iPad.

The Configuration page has direct settings for the Cisco/ Linksys WVC200 and WVC210 PTZ cameras and will also support MJPEG video streams that virtually current all CIsco Cams produce.  At only $1.99 for the app, If you have a Cisco video camera and a Apple iPhone or iPad this app is a must have.

iPhone SipPhone client working with Cisco UCME

I posted this over on the http://www.vnet-corp.com/forum.htm as well..

Hi all! I got sipphone working with my Call Manager Express setup, and thought I would share. The main gotcha was to set the username the SAME as the extension. The second problem is that sipphone doesn't honor SIP message 423 'Interval Too Brief', in response to sipphone's registration interval default of 120 seconds (which you cannot change in the application). Ideally, sipphone should let you change this value to whatever you want, AND sipphone should automatically adjust up if necessary to honor SIP 423 messages.

Here is the config for my UCME SIP line:

Is Cisco IP Communicator for the Apple iPhone on the Horizon?

With the launch of the apple iPhone SDK, I wonder (if  when) Cisco will deliver an iPhone softphone that will integrate with CallManager and CallManager Express.
Here are some reasons I think it may be on the way and one reason I don't care  . . .
