Cisco's Site Now has a data sheet posted about the new SR520 Routers! There is also a Q&A posted as well on the Cisco Site. These security routers are part of Cisco's Smart Business Communications System (SBCS) I don't see them available in distribution channels yet and I would expect when the products are actually released a new version of the Cisco Configuration Assistant will be released to support them. CCA 1.8. The one thing I do notice is that The SR520 supports SSL VPNs where the UC520 does not. (or at least TAC won't support the config on a UC520)
I've also gone ahead and created a new forum on the site to discuss Cisco SR520 configuration. Ted |

Compatability with ASA series
This is encouraging. I think it will replace the RV042 for alot of our customers.
I wonder how compatible it will be with site-to-site VPNs to the ASA series. I am thinking of vpn-on-a-stick scenarios where the SR would provide secure connectivity to the ASA and the ASA would provide the contect filtering, policy enforcement, advanced reporting, and malware defense.
- just a thought.
I sure hope it is at least
I sure hope it is at least CLI configurable and does not suffer from the same drawbacks of the CE520 switches and 521APs that are not configurable via CLI. I guess they can be configured via the /exec web interface, but it's a pain.
personally, I probably won't touch these SR520s. I think it's lame that they have stripped out useful remote site features, such as DMVPN. I will stick with the Advanced IP Services version of the 871 router for my remote sites, as it can support pretty much any IOS feature you would need at a small office.
I just wish we had DMVPN/dynamic routing support on the UC520.
