Cisco Releases software pack 8.0.4 for the UC500 series

Cisco has released version 8.0.4 of the UC500 software pack. (8.0.3 never made it out of beta)
This version updates IOS to version 15.0(1)XA3a. Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express stays at 8.0 and Unity Express moves from version 7.1.3 to 8.0.2.  To install this software pack you will need at a minimum version 2.2.5 of Cisco Configuration Assistant.

UC540 Software Packs - Version question

Can someone explain the UC540 software versions?
I recently downloaded the UC540 software paks 8.0.2 and 7.1.3. When I look in the zip file I see the following for 8.0.2:

Introducing Cisco Configuration Professional 2.1

 I recieved an email from Shankar Ramachandran the product manager at Cisco for Cisco Configuration Professional software.  Cisco has released version 2.1 of Cisco Configuration Professional.  This is the GUI management tool for Unified Communications Manager Express running on an ISR Router.

This new release adds support for the following features:

  • The new ISR G2 routers
  • Additional security feature configurations  like GETVPN
  • Wireless
  • Unified Communications  (CME, CUE, SRST, CME as SRST)
  • New interfaces such as 3G
  • Product performance

Cisco introducing new ISR g2 Routers the 1900, 2900 and 3800 series.

Cisco is announcing a new series of ISR Routers.  The 1900, 2900 and 3800 series.  Techinical specs are attached to this post.  

  • Highlights of this include new PVDM3 DSP modules with voice and video features.
  • Gigabit interfaces
  • New module interfaces
  • 5 fold speed and enhanced memory capabilites
  • Support for more phones per router in CME and SRST mode.
  • Cisco IOS 15.0 supports the ISR G2 routers with a single universal image. Cisco reduced the feature sets to four individual features sets in Cisco IOS 15.0. The capabilities of the purchased feature sets will be unlocked when the license is applied to the router.
