I've got the latest firmwares/etc.. but I've never had to delve this deep into one of these devices... how do I go about getting a 7937 up and running with a UC520 running 4.2.6 w/ 12.4(11)XW6. I tried a faq that suggested I export the apps7937etc...bin and tftp to the uc520 then run the tftp flash:apps7937... etc.. but when i tried to specify to load that file for the 7937 it said the 7937 wasn't a recognized device.. if I run "load ?" i see about 20-30 phones, but the 7936 is the only conference phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. . I've been searching for hours on cisco.com etc .. Just cannot get pointed in the right direction. This is all new equip that i just recieved today, kinda frustrating that i have to do a ton of work to get my new conference phones up and running, everything else works perfect! :\

Solution: UPGRADE
You will need upgrade your IOS to:
uc500-advipservicesk9-mz.124-20.T.bin
With this new version of IOS, you will have inside of ephone the "type 7937"
The firmware version running: apps37sccp.1-2-1-0.bin
Short steps to config:
1. Copy the IOS in flash and enable the boot with this IOS:
boot system flash:uc500-advipservicesk9-mz.124-20.T.bin
2. Copy the firmware file to flash and public the file on tftp-server:
tftp-server flash:apps37sccp.1-2-1-0.bin
3. On the section "telephony-service", add the load firmware:
load 7937 apps37sccp.1-2-1-0
4. Add the new conference ephone with the associated ephone-dn line:
ephone 1
device-security-mode none
mac-address 0004.0001.AAA1 <- MAC address device)
type 7937 <- Type of phone
button 1:5 <- Associated ephone-dn line
That's All Folks!
Step by Step
Ok, so can we get the complete step by step please?
What if any .bin files to DL and commands to enter?
That would be great.
Thanks!
Step by Step
I'd love a step by step walk through as well. We have 11 7937's collecting dust here. I'd love to get them up and running with our UC520.
You mean it works with
You mean it works with UC520? Or just CME on a Router? I'm confused by your post. I'm using a UC520. Will it work with that?
looks like it will
it "should" work, but I have not tried it on a UC520.
Ted
Doesn't work
Hi everybody,
UC500 series have CME 4.2, the command < ephone-type > it's unavailable.
:S
great post
I added it to the configuration guide and promoted it to the front page of the site.
Ted
You can do it!!!!
Hi, all.
I have the same problem with a 2851 CME 4.3, finally I found a solution for register and upgrade the 7937G.
The solution is:
conf t
router_cme(config)#ephone-type 7937G
router_cme(config-if)#device-id 431
router_cme(config-if)#device-name Cisco 7937G Conferece (or whatever you want)
router_cme(config-if)#max-buttons 1
router_cme(config-if)#max-presentation 1
At this point you can use the 7937G as a type phone in the ephone configuration, and you can load at the telephony services config.
You can use the 7941G locale for the language.
I hope this can help you.
7937 Conference Phone
Hey i have the same setup but still unable to get the phone registered. I have 2800 router and CME 4.3. I think i put it all but i still might be missing something. Can you do a step by step.. Thanks in advance.
This solution doesn't work in the UC500 series CME4.2
Hi everyone,
I wish you comment, the command ephone-type is unavalilable in the UC500 series.
Your solution work properly in the 2800 series with CME 4.3, but doesn't work with the UC500 series, because on this momment the most recent version of CME is 4.2.
Thank you for your comment.
Still not supported in 4.3
Even though the release notes say it is supported, it still does not work in CME 4.3.
Same Probelm here
I have to say I have been a little cheesed that my Cisco rep didn't warn me about this. As a SMB Select partner it seems that they are trying to get all this stuff out the door and then play catch up.
As a result I have the GREAT looking(Expensive!) phone that is a door stop at this point!
Cisco REALLY needs to get their act together!
I don't see the 7937 supported yet in 4.2(7)
Anyone try it yet?
No, but I looked at the
No, but I looked at the phone load and it was not listed.....
7937 currently not supported on CME/UC520
Hi zooyorq,
Unfortunately, the 7937 is the only Cisco phone that is not yet supported on CME and thus UC520. It will be supported come CME 4.3, due in April. UC520 support for CME 4.3 will follow a couple months later.
HTH,
