3845 ISR Limited FXO port support

HI All,

I need to support up to about 20 analog pstn lines.
3845 CCME can only have up to 4x4FXO cards which makes 16 ports.
Anyway to support to 20 or more?

Regards,
UCfan

Can find VG244 that supports 24 FXO ports.

HI,

Thanks for the sharing.
The problem is the lines were subcribe one by one over the years.
The provider seems to have a problem porting all invidual line number over to the ISDN.

I don't seems to find the VG gateway that can support 24 FXO.
Am i looking at the wrong sites?

Regards,
UCfan

pb was right

the VG series only supports FXS. I was mistaken.
Have you looked at another provider to port the numbers or considered a Private line SIP Trunk?

Ted, unfortunately the VG224

Ted, unfortunately the VG224 supports FXS only, while UCfan needed FXOs. You suggestions to go for ISDN PRI is the best one, however when this is absolutely not possible, there are few alternatives:

- Use NM-HDV2-xx cards, that can host 2 x VIC cards, to get to the required number of ports

- Use EM-HDA cards that can host expansion card each with 6 FXO for a total of 12. A subproduct of that is that you will also have 8 FXS ports.

- Use a channel bank like the ones made by Carrier Access, to convert from analog FXO to a T1 CAS interface into the router.

Yes Get a VG224

A cisco VG244 can support 24 POTS connections. Here is a link to more info on the device. It is supported by CME.

My question for you is, why not move the customer to a PRI-T1 and port the numbers. Doing that will cut his monthly phone bill by AT LEAST half.
