Hey all!
Im very lucky to have this forum, as it got me though most of my obstacles. I recently deployed a uc520.24U system. Pretty straight forward setup. 8 Channel T1 PRI and 2 back up analog lines coming into the uc, (15) 7911 phones (3) 7931 phones, 7 IP Communicater softip phones. Heres my current need(s):
I have 3 operators that want to have the opportunity to answer the main line (did) before it forwards to voicemail. What ive done to accomplish this is create 6 instances of two DN's (3 on 290 which CFB to 291 ,3 on 291 which CFB to 290) and set them up as overlay buttons on the 3 phones which both CFNA to 401 if not answered.
My problem here is i want it to go to the AA not the voicemail box for 290 or 291. I have read about "blast calling" but have not been able to get that to function for this scenario. On top of this setup, 2 of the operators have requested to have their phones "flash" not ring, I think I figured that out by recording a silent ringtone and applying that to their 290 and 291 buttons, i would think that would be a feature on the phone system.
I am also trying to configure a button on the phone that would forward all main line calls from DID xxx to 401 (AA) when pressed, and then back to 290 when pressed again? is this even an option? if not, what options do i have?
I am very surprised how long it takes to do simple operations on this device, but at least its a good learning experience! I have been told that you canNOT voice over intercom unless you use 1 of the 2 ippage groups, is that true? I really hope not, also ive learned that conforming to an existing network with their own dhcp server is not easy, and in my case not an option, as everything went bad, i simply tried changing to there 192.168.1.0 network, i couldnt even figure out how to disable the uc's dhcp server. I would be very excited to see a running config of a system that has done this successfuly so that i can implement these in existing networks without limiting them to a class C subnet. I am new to this system, and actually having fun refreshing my CLI skills, thanks and cheers!
Well you didn't mention what
Well you didn't mention what number was associated to your AA. But just send the CFB and or CFNA to the AA number and not the VM number.. Since you are pointing to the VM number it goes to voice mail. Just change it to go to AA where you need. It is that simple.
How about telling them to turn their volume down on the phones? The phones with lights will still blink when a call comes in. If they turn the volume all the way down, it will not ring at all. Can it be that simple?
You can edit all DHCP settings via the CLI. Just go in and edit or delete it and recreate it. Using the "no" form of the command will work. Something like "no ip dhcp pool VOICE" should work. Also in most cases with Microsoft Active directory... you do not want the phone system providing DHCP for your DATA vlan, since DHCP should be done from the microsoft server always.
The button you are asking for may be a night-service button? Check out http://uc500.com/night-answer-button
